When was the last time you saw a printing press? May be decades ago when technology was still in a budding stage and people were dependant on the age-old techniques. Technology in this era has changed the world and the way we live. Drastic changes are being seen everywhere and people have become more commercial when it comes to providing products or services. In context to printing, offset printing was the only option people had but it slowly gave way to digital printing which is relatively much faster and the quality too is impeccable. Though 90% of the printers’ population uses digital printing, the rest of the 10% still depends on offset printing. That is because there are people who still prefer offset printing over the digital way.
Before you choose the type of printing you need, it is important for you to know the difference between Offset printing and Digital printing. They are poles apart even though their main aim is to print paper, cloth or wood. It is in fact very difficult to differentiate between an offset printed paper and a digital one.
Offset printing has been helping man since many years and the techniques are pretty comprehensive. The top notch advantage of Offset printing is that, many sheets of paper can be printed within seconds flawlessly. It has been proved that offset printing is 6 times faster than digital printing. But the quality might not be excellent all the time. If you have the option to adjust with the standards, you can move to offset printing. The cost of offset printing too is fixed always and there is no change in it. Since the plates for printing are all fixed and you cannot move or change them, the cost of offset printing remains the same.
Digital printing again is similar but the quality is simply amazing. More than wood, paper or cloth, digital printing is used for printing on the multi-media. Digital way of printing is less expensive and you have the freedom to change the print on the next sheet you want to print. Though the printing is done quickly, it might take time if you wish to change the layouts or the images on the sheet. Depending upon your requirement and the time frame, you can choose offset printing or digital printing which work on the same line.
